Can you believe that this piece is so popular that the leading American ballet companies get a total 40 percent of their annual box office revenue from Nutcracker shows performed during the Christmas season?

The Young Person‘s Guide To the Orchestra by a British composer Benjamin Britten (1913–76) is a perfect piece to introduce you to classical music and the symphony orchestra. This vibrant, colourful and exciting composition uses a music theme to show off the colours, ranges an characteristics of all the instruments of a modern symphony orchestra. So let's give winter a warm welcome and set off for a great musical adventure!
