G. Puccini, G. Verdi, F. Lehár, J. Massenet, I. Kálmán arias and duets

On the evening of the Day of Love, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Orchestra, together with some of the brightest opera soloists of the younger generation, soprano Ieva Barbora Juozapaitytė and tenor Karolis Kašiuba, present a programme of beautiful arias from the works written by G. Puccini, G. Verdi, F. Lehár, J. Massenet, I. Kálmán, and others.

The young generation opera soloist soprano Ieva Barbora Juozapaitytė graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2018 (class of Prof. Vladimiras Prudnikovas). In 2017-2018 she studied singing at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts in Helsinki (Finland). She has created memorable roles at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Kaunas and Klaipėda State Music Theatres. The most notable of them are in Verdi's opera “La Traviata”, Puccini's opera “La Boheme”, Balsys’ opera “The Journey to Tilžė”, Dvořák's opera “Rusalka”, Kutavičius' opera “The Bear”, Lehár's operetta “Die lustige Witwe”, Strauss' operetta “Wienerblut”, Loewe's musical “My Fair Lady” and others. I. B. Juozapaitytė has given numerous concerts with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian Symphony Wind Orchestra, has prepared and performed chamber music programmes at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, the Kaunas State Philharmonic and other venues. In 2017 she attended the London Masterclass in the United Kingdom, and in 2022 she attended the Masterclass at the Massimo Bellini Theatre in Italy. As a member of the vocal quartet “Il Senso”, the singer has also successfully performed the popular classical genre.

Tonight the soloist's partner on stage is tenor Karolis Kašiuba, who is already promised great future by the experts. The singer graduated from Kaunas Juozas Gruodis Conservatoire in 2015, majoring in singing. In 2022, he graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with a Master's degree in the class of Prof. Irena Milkevičiūtė. Since 2021 K. Kašiuba has been working at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and has already created roles in such operas as Verdi's “La Traviata”, Puccini's “La Boheme”, Strauss's “Der Rosenkavalier”, Tchaikovsky's “Eugene Onegin”, Mozart's “The Magic Flute” and others. The soloist also performs with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble Musica Humana, etc., and was voted Opera Hope of the Year in 2022 for his role as Tigrūdis in Bajoras' opera-ballet “The Lamb of God”.

The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will be conducted this evening by its founder, artistic director and chief conductor, laureate of the National Prize, Maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius.
