The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, together with actor Andrius Bialobžeskis and conductor Egidijus Kaveckas, invites you to embark on an enchanting journey through the mysterious world of symphonic music. The concert will begin with one of the finest works of this genre, “The Young Person’s Guide to the Symphony Orchestra” by British composer Benjamin Britten (1913-1976). It is a lively work, full of colours and joy, in which a single musical theme reveals the undertones, range and qualities of different groups of orchestral instruments.
After getting acquainted with the characteristics of the symphony orchestra instruments, we will invite you to hear the legendary Austrian composer, the king of the waltz Johann Strauss (1825-1899), in the performance of his cheerful, charming, and exuberant compositions, which create a real festive atmosphere. They will be followed by the “Kindersinfonie” written by German composer Leopold Mozart (1719-1787), father of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is an intriguing work in which the chamber orchestra is gradually supplemented with children's instruments.
Dr. Egidijus Kaveckas, one of the most professional conductors of the younger generation in Lithuania, will conduct the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra during this lively afternoon.
The concert is recommended for children aged 5-12.
