Concert Programme
The program features songs by Elton John, Lionel Richie, Cher, Modern Talking, and other bands and artists
During this festive week, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, led by its artistic director and chief conductor Gintaras Rinkevičius, presents its latest project, inviting listeners to travel back to the golden age of 1970s and 1980s pop music. Performed by soloists Ieva Prudnikovaitė, Evelina Sašenko, and Jeronimas Milius alongside the orchestra, these legendary, universally recognized hits will take on a completely fresh sound.
This program is a nostalgic journey to an era when the stage was dominated by such iconic names as Elton John, Lionel Richie, Cher, "Modern Talking", and others. The finest songs of the '70s and '80s will shine in new colors, enriched by the full, resonant sound of a symphony orchestra and brought to life by some of Lithuania's brightest soloists. Prudnikovaitė is beloved by audiences for her charisma, rich, expressive voice, and her ability to masterfully adapt to various musical styles – from classical opera to tango. Sašenko is a performer of exceptional sensitivity and elegance, whose velvety voice, flawless musical artistry, and ability to subtly convey emotion have repeatedly captivated audiences on both intimate stages and in grand symphonic concerts. Milius is a rock vocalist whose powerful voice, intense emotion, and commanding stage presence have long conquered concert halls and musical arenas. Conducted by Maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will fill the stage with vibrant energy and lush musical colors.
This concert promises an evening filled with emotion, high spirits, fond memories, and unexpected discoveries. It is a unique opportunity to hear pop music classics reborn in the spotlight of the symphonic stage.
