This spring, Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will present its new project together with Adrija Čepaitė, one of the most famous conductors of her generation, and Vladas Bagdonas, the legendary theatre and film actor, winner of the National Prize. "One Thousand and One Nights" is a symphonic music concert that explores the theme of the profound female archetype through the world music classics and excerpts from literary masterpieces. Who is the one whose vocation is to spread peace and prosperity, to be the source of wisdom and dignity? Is she a playful, naughty girl who easily charms every man? Or maybe a demonic killer asking for your head and tearing your heart out? Is she perhaps a devout, wise, fearless bearer of beauty and power of eternity?

Adrija Čepaitė, the author and inventor of the idea behind this concert, the performer of Gregorian chant, is known not only in Lithuania, but also abroad. A. Čepaitė obtained her master's degree in choral conducting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and later continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (Austria), where she obtained another master's degree in choral and orchestra conducting, as well as in church music and Gregorian chant. The women's ensemble “Graces & Voices”, which she has established in Austria together with her coursemate, has already toured many countries, and its first CD “Mysterium Crucis” (2012) was named Early Music Record of the Year by the influential classical music critic magazine “Pizzicato”. The latest album “Historia Sancti Olavi” (2016) was rated 4 stars by “BBC Music Magazine”. A. Čepaitė did no less to popularize the music of Lithuanian composers. In 2018 a CD released with the German record company Telos Music, featuring works by Bronius Kutavičius, Osvaldas Balakauskas and Algirdas Martinaitis, performed by the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra conducted by A. Čepaitė, was rated 5 stars by “Pizzicato” magazine.
